WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court Thursday agreed to hear an Arizona case challenging fines in a defective tire lawsuit – the only case on the high court’s docket from the state so far. That’s a change from recent years when Arizona lawyers were a relatively common presence before the justices. But experts say the recent run of Arizona arguments – on voting rights, immigration issues and political redistricting – have been the exception, and that a drop in cases would be a return to the norm. But there is still time for the court to add Arizona cases and several in the offing, including deferred deportation and voting rights.
